Childbirth Education
To help you prepare for your childbirth experience at Dupont Hospital, we offer a variety of in-person and online classes for you and your family. Early registration (by the fifth month of your pregnancy) is recommended for the best selection of dates and times.

Virtual Classes
For your convenience, certain classes are offered online. Once registered, you will receive an email invitation from the childbirth educator through Google Meet. Simply accept the link to attend the class. If you don't receive an email in your inbox, please check your spam/junk folder. A Gmail account is not required.

Childbirth Classes
Preparing for Childbirth
Offered weekdays (in person) or Saturdays (virtual), this one-time class covers labor, birth and early postpartum. Expectant mothers and partners will learn about options for pain management, as well as:
- Physical and emotional changes
- The labor and birth process
- Options for relaxation and breathing techniques
- Support techniques to assist the laboring mother
- A virtual tour of the Birthplace
Breastfeeding Basics
Designed for anyone considering breastfeeding, this class covers the basics and benefits of breastfeeding. We encourage both you and your support person to attend this one-time informational session.
Getting to Know Your Newborn
In preparation for baby's arrival, this one-sessions class covers:
- Basic newborn care
- Feeding choices
- Signs of illness
- Interacting with your amazing newborn
Infant CPR
Infant CPR class instruction is available once a month. Find upcoming class dates.
New Mom Support
To help you adjust to motherhood after baby arrives, we offer a Breastfeeding and New Mom Support Group so you can ask questions, compare notes and swap stories with other new moms. Check upcoming dates.
