Mammography

Early detection is the key to successful cancer treatment. How many times have you heard that? We hope you've heard it enough that you follow your age-specific guidelines for regular exams and mammograms.

Our care includes screenings, digital mammography, ultrasound and biopsies (ultrasound-guided core biopsy or stereotactic breast biopsy and MRI). It is our pledge that you will be treated with warmth and respect (including honoring appointment times) by our entire team. The Dupont Difference is evident when you enter The Dupont Hospital Center for Breast Health.

The Dupont Difference & Mammography
For your convenience, you do not need a doctor's order for a screening mammogram. You should check with your insurance to determine coverage. Appointments are suggested, but we also try to accommodate walk-ins (no promises, though). If you are under a physician's care for any ongoing medical condition related to breast health, we do require a referral from your physician.

Effective Technology
Not only do we have a compassionate, experienced mammography staff, but we've also pursued technology that assists us in reviewing mammograms. One of these tools is called the R2 Image Checker. We like to think of it as a spell-check program for mammograms. After one of our board-certified radiologists has reviewed your mammogram, we let the R2 system look at it. The R2 system can detect variations in the black, gray and white that the human eye may not be able to perceive. If the system finds something unexpected, we'll work with you and your physician to determine exactly what the R2 system saw.

Please Make Your Appointment
Breast cancer is more effectively treatable when detected early. Mammograms are an essential part of early detection. To make an appointment for a mammogram, call (260) 416-3006. Online Preregistration
If your doctor has recommended that you have a procedure and you already have an appointment scheduled at Dupont Hospital, you may preregister online. Preregistration is easy to do. Just click on the preregistration button in the side bar at the right under "My 5-Star Community". Follow the instructions to fill out your information and click send for it to be emailed to us. You are not required to preregister, but we offer this as an option to save you time once you arrive at the hospital.
