The Birthplace includes:
- Tours and classes for moms and families planning to have their babies at Dupont Hospital.
- 12 Labor Delivery & Recovery rooms (LDRs). Each has a roomy shower and comfortable furnishings, including sleeper couches.
- A whirlpool is available for your added comfort.
- A luxurious Family Birthing Suite with a whirlpool. The perfect setting for labor, delivery and the first 24 hours of postpartum.
- 27 comfy, quiet postpartum rooms.
- A large nursery with 20 bassinets. We encourage moms to keep their babies in the room with them, but we offer the nursery when mom needs rest.
- 14-bed Intensive Care Unit. The majority of births occur without complications, but our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is here, just in case.
- A dedicated maternity entrance and private elevator that takes you right into the Labor and Delivery Unit.
- Advanced fetal monitoring systems that allow your doctor to monitor baby's activity during labor.
