Pear Crumble
Ingredients:
- 4 1/2 c. (1080 ml) Bartlett pears (peeled & thinly sliced)
- 3/4 c. (180 ml) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. (120 ml) sugar substitute
- 1 tsp (5 ml) apple pie spice
- 1/4 c. (60 ml) margarine (reducedcalorie)
- 3/4 c. (180 ml) fat-free half & half
Preheat oven to 350ºF (232ºC). Spray an 8”x8” (20 cm x 20 cm) baking dish with butter-flavored cooking spray.
Evenly layer pear slices in prepared baking dish. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar substitute and apple pie spice. Add margarine. Blend mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over pears. Bake 18-20 minutes or until pears are tender and top is browned. Let set for at least 5 minutes. Divide into 6 servings. For each serving, spoon warm pear crumble in a dessert dish and drizzle 2 Tbsp (30 ml) half & half over top. Serve at once.
Yield: Apprx. 6 servings; 188 calories (787 kilojoules), 4 g fat; 35 g carbs per serving.
